Kyrgyz Muslims pray outside in Bishkek on July 5, 2016, during celebrations of Eid al-Fitr marking the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
The Institute for Iran-Eurasia Studies (IRAS) would like to send warmest wishes to Muslims in Eurasian and Caucasian nations celebrating Eid.
This past month, many in the world endured challenges and senseless violence that broke the hearts and tried the souls. Our prayers are with the hundreds of innocent lives, many of them Muslim, taken during the month of Ramadan in places like Istanbul, Dhaka, Baghdad and Medina.
Also, at this time we must keep in our thoughts for those who are unable to celebrate or be with their loved ones. Across the world people are enduring unimaginable suffering, including in Syria, and the nations including Iran, Eurasia and Caucasia, have to continue to work tirelessly for a peaceful resolution.
So as families and friends come together this Eid to share food and presents, to think of others, to mark the end of Ramadan, let’s think about the better region and world, the nations must build together.
Once again, we wish you all a peaceful Eid Mubarak!
